• Please bring your smart-phone, tablet computer (such as a iPad) or similar devices with internet connectivity (either through Wifi or 3G data network).  You will need it to download an audio track necessary for the Retreat when you arrive.  Ushers will be available to help your downloading.  Please also bring a pair of headphones for your own use.  If you do not have such devices, we have a limited number for lending to those who need it.  Please arrive any time between 6-9pm.  The meditation retreat is self-paced, and will take at least 1 hour to finish; but you can stay as long as you find necessary before 10pm.  Couples who have young children can consider taking turn to participate while the other taking care of their child(ren) in Room E.

SIG Board Games Night

SIG Badminton

Want to test out your badminton skills against ace players, or just hit the bird around for fun and exercise? Westside Baptist Church is hiring ONE 40 hours/week Children Summer Program Coordinator. This is a May 6 to August 23, 2013 (16 weeks) contract-based position. • be between 15 AND 30 YEARS OF AGE at the start of the employment;

• be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

Job Description:

• Planning, promoting and leading 8 weeks of full-day summer programs for children from kindergarten to grade 3, possibly with ethnic Chinese background.
• Recruiting, training and supervising volunteers for the program.

Required Skills:

• Basic computer system, office applications and internet operation
• Keyboard skills: English & Chinese
• Language: fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese; preferably also in Mandarin
• Skills and experiences working with young children
• Good interpersonal skills and willing to work in a team
• Responsible, organized, self-motivated, willing to learn, and attention to detail

Summary of March 2013 Deacon Board Meeting

• Wendy Wong’s farewell party will be held on March 10 between 5:30pm – 8:30pm.
• Pastoral approval must be granted before any promotional posters for parachurch or community organizations can be posted on the church notice boards, websites and email groups.
• The church 21st Anniversary celebration includes a dinner on May 4 Saturday and a joint worship service on May 5 Sunday.
• Pastor Gladys and Anders took their annual vacation from March 6 – March 10.
• The cracks on the sliding doors will be repaired by the construction company.
