• Don’t go home hungry! Join us for the community meal after Saturday evening worship services. Fees are $6 per person. Please contact Joyce or Jackson to pre-order by Thursday each week.
• Youth Gospel Camp fundraiser event -- YARD SALE -- will be held on June 15 (Saturday) between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Donations of resalable items are greatly appreciated and will be collected on June 1 and June 8 in Room G. Please note that prices will be set by the committee, and unsold items will NOT be returned to the donors. For donations of large or heavy items, please contact Joseph Ng, Jason Kwok or the office prior to dropping them off at the church. The committee reserves the right to decline donations of items deemed unsalable. Thanks for your support!
• The WBC Annual Church picnic will be held on August 5 at Belcarra Regional Park. Please mark your calendar for this event! Stay tuned for more details.
• The Children Summer Camp at Westside Baptist Church is now open for registration! The camp will be from July 1st to August 23rd, 2013, Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 3:30pm. We are very excited to welcome children from preschool to grade 3 to join us for songs, story time, arts & crafts, games, outdoor activities, playground time, cooking lessons, special shows, field trips, and so much more! Summary of May 2013 Deacon Board Meeting

• The church has offered Grace Ng a position as the summer program coordinator, subject to the approval of government funding. Grace Ng was selected out of 3 candidates.
• Rules and regulations concerning weddings and memorial services in the administrative handbook have been amended. An extract of the amendments is posted on the bulletin board for viewing.
• The Chinese ministry will launch a campaign called “The Emotionally Healthy Spiritual Church” in June and July. The campaign will include sermon teaching on Sunday mornings and combined small group events on Friday nights.
• In lieu of a Father’s Day gift this year, we will be making a donation on behalf of Westside’s fathers to one of the following charitable organizations: 1) Big Brothers; 2) The Vancouver Food Bank or 3) The Prostate Cancer Foundation of BC. Fathers can cast their votes to choose their preferred charity during the worship services on June 15 or 16.
• The English ministry will hold a coffee house on the evening of Friday, July 12. Details are to be confirmed.
• The English worship service on August 31 will be cancelled due to most of the congregation attending the Youth Gospel Camp that weekend. Therefore, a joint worship service will be held on Sunday, September 1.

Summary of April Deacon Board Meeting

• The church anniversary dinner will be held on May 4 (Saturday) between 6pm to 9pm at the church. $12 per adult, $6 per child of ages 4-10, free for children age 3 and under. Deadline for ticket sale is April 28. The maximum seating capacity is 200.
• One pastoral staff and two deacons will conduct interviews for the candidates of the summer program coordinators.
• Maggie Chan, AFC Acting Ministry Director, will be the main speaker of the Youth Gospel Camp from August 30 – September 2, 2013.
• Youth Gospel Camp fundraiser events include car wash on April 28, July 28 and a yard sale on June 9. Donated items for the yard sale are welcome. Details are to be announced.
• For security reason, approval must be granted by the parents whose child is attending Westside before posting the child’s picture on any website.
