Announcements - December 21, 2014


  • Worship duties list is posted on the church website. Please contact Deacon Peter, Deacon Justin or the church secretary if you are not available for the duties. 
  • We have raised a total of $3,185.45 from all the charity events we hosted this year (Photos with Santa and dining ware $212.20, auction $1,803, donation on the tables $465.25, clothing drive $335 and AWANA shares matching donation $370). Thank you for the generosity of all brothers, sisters and friends. 
  • The 59th Baptismal service and transfer of membership will be held during worship service today. New members’ profiles are as follow: 
    • Transfer
      • Samuel Leung moved to Canada in 2003.Samuel received Christ in 2006, and was baptized in 2007 at Burnaby Alliance Church. He is self-employed and is attending Friday night’s small group.
      •  Heidi Tang moved to Canada in 2001. Heidi received Christ in 2007, and was baptized in the same year at Burnaby Alliance Church. She is a homemaker and with her husband, Samuel Leung, they have two children Leo and Christina who attend GZone and CitRUs. Heidi is attending Friday night’s small group. 
    • Baptism 
      • Victor Jin moved to Canada after he graduated from the University. Victor received Christ this year. He is a logistic specialist and is currently attending English ministries men’s small group. 
      • Leo Lee is a UBC 3rd year student and received Christ when he was in high school. He is currently attending dLite. 
      • Gigi Li is a Grade 12 student and received Christ when she was in grade 6. She is now attending dLite. 
  • The monthly bulletin has been posted on the bulletin board in the church foyer. Please check for important church updates. 
  • WBC201 is a spiritual maturity course for those who have been baptized and transferred to Westside which will be held in January 2015. Please contact Pastor Gladys if you would like to attend. 
  • Please wash the utensils inside the kitchen before and after using them. Also, please do not leave food uncovered and remember to keep the church clean. 
  • Please send your new contact info to the church if it has been updated within the past two years. 
  • The church will set up a paper recycle box in Room A, and would like to ask brothers and sisters to bring home some papers for recycling so that we can help reduce the cost for recycling.

  • Koo Wan Fung Kwan, Carlos Liu and Anita Liu membership status have been reactivated. Tony Wong membership status has been deactivated. 
  • A Christmas outreach event will be held on December 19 at 7:00pm for the English ministry. $10 per ticket.

Announcements - December 14, 2014


  • Church prayer meetings are held every Sunday at 10:30am at the office. All are encouraged and welcome to attend. 
  • Worship duties list is posted on the church website. Please contact Deacon Peter, Deacon Justin or the church secretary if you are not available for the duties. 
  • The monthly bulletin has been posted on the bulletin board in the church foyer. Please check for important church updates. 
  • Today is the last day for clothing drive collection. Please bring your clothing donations to Room G before or after worship service. 
  • For those who have purchased tickets to the Christmas Charity Dinner tonight, please arrive at 6pm. All fund raised through the 1) auction, 2) taking pictures with Santa, 3) using the church dining ware, 4) donation collect at the table (donation receipt will be issued for donation of $20 and above) and 4) the clothing drive will be equally donated to Vancouver Food Bank and Union Gospel Mission. 
  • Christmas gathering will be held on December 19 at 7:00pm in the main hall. Please invite friends and family to attend this outreach event. $10 per ticket. 
  • A joint worship and baptismal service with the CM will be held on December 21 at 11:00am. 
  • WBC201 is a spiritual maturity course for those who have been baptized and transferred to Westside which will be held in January 2015. Please contact Pastor Gladys if you would like to attend.

Announcements - December 7, 2014


  • Church prayer meetings are held every Sunday at 10:30am at the office. All are encouraged and welcome to attend.

  • Operation Christmas Child national collection week has received 3289 shoe box gifts. Thank you brothers and sisters who helped to packed the cartons and loaded them into the trailer. 
  • WBC is again hosting a charity clothing drive this year and the collection period will be from December 7-December 14. For each bag (filled up 26” x 36” garbage bag) of clothing donated we will receive $2.5 from Big Brother. Net proceeds will be equally donated to Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society and Union Gospel Mission. Please bring your clothing donations to Room G before or after worship service. Empty garbage bags are available at the back of the hall. 
  • Tickets for the December 14 Christmas Charity Dinner are available with small groups leaders or Deacon Justin Chen. The prices are $13 per adult, $7 per child age 4-10, free for child of age 3 or below. Today is the last day for selling tickets. 
  • DONATIONS WANTED! Gifts to be sold at the Christmas Charity Auction are now being collected. We are accepting: new items of value; unique and valuable vintage items; and unused and non-expired gift certificates, gift cards, or gift vouchers (e.g. Groupons). Items should be new or in excellent condition. Please contact Pastor Alan for details by today. Please note that the Church reserves the right to refuse any donations, and unsold gifts will be returned to donors. Thank you for your support!
