Westside Baptist Church - 2nd Congregational Survey

As British Columbia is gradually re-opening, there are still many restrictions in place regarding mass gatherings. It is possible that these restrictions may remain in place for longer than we anticipated. Since our last survey in June, the situation has changed. Therefore, we would like to find out again the congregation's preference about how ministry should be conducted under these constraints. Please take a few minutes to answer the following questions. This will greatly help the decision-making process of the Board.

    Announcements - September 13, 2020

    • Prayer meeting will be held from Zoom on Sundays at 10:30am. All are welcome to join. Meeting ID: 640 432 540; Password: 010779 It will be the same Meeting ID and password every week. 
    • Please update your phone or email address if you have recent changes so that we can stay connected during this special time of social distancing. If you have any special needs or prayer concerns, please contact Pastor Gladys for church prayer support. 
    • During this time of COVID-19, offering by cheques and e-transfer are welcome. Cheques can be mailed to the church office. Please call the office to confirm receipt of the cheque as there may be delays in the mail. E-transfer email address is westsidebaptistoffering@gmail.com Cash donations will not be accepted until worship at church resumes. 
    • The new GZone ministry welcomes youth of Grade 7 and above to participate. The online group meeting will restart at 7:30 pm on every Friday from September. If you are interested, please contact Pastor Gladys. 
    • Monthly bulletin has been posted on the church website. Please refer to it for important notices. 
    • 2021-2023 Deaconship Election 
      • Existing deacons are Jason Kwok, James Lai, Daisy Liu, Benjamin Mak, Samuel Leung, Tommy Tung and Joyce Yu. 
      • James Lai, Benjamin Mak and Joyce Yu (1st term) deaconships will be ended on December 31, 2020. Therefore, three of the deaconship candidates will be elected to replace the positions in 2021. 
      • Nomination Committee: Deacon Rep: Jason Kwok, Daisy Liu, Samuel Leung Congregation Rep: Daniel Ng, Monica Tong and Jenny Tse 
      • Criteria and procedure for deacon election has been posted on the church website. All nominees are to be approved and recommended by the nomination committee. 
      • Timetable: 
        • Nomination commences September 6 
        • Nomination closes October 31 
        • Publication of final deaconship candidate list November 8 
        • Online Deaconship election date November 26-28 (Details to be announced) 
      • The church will send out email messages to all members to verify their email addresses for online deaconship voting. Should any member not receive the email by the end of September, please contact the church office.
