Announcements - February 28, 2021

  • Prayer meeting will be held from Zoom on Sundays at 10:30am. All are welcome to join. Meeting ID: 640 432 540; Password: 010779. It will be the same Meeting ID and password every week. 
  • During this time of COVID-19, offering by cheques and e-transfer are welcome. Cheques can be mailed to the church office. Please call the office to confirm receipt of the cheque as there may be delays in the mail. E-transfer email address is westsidebaptistoffering@gmail.com Cash donations will not be accepted until worship at church resumes. 
  • 2020 donation receipts have been sent out by email/mail for donations over $20. Please contact the church office if you did not receive a donation receipt. 
  • There will be a joint gathering through zoom every last Thursday of the month at 7:30pm for all EM SGs. Mark your calendar for March 25. It will be an evening of presentation and discussion on popular Christian ethical issues. Please make effort to come. 
  • Today at 1:15pm there will be GZone coaches and SG leaders sharing and prayer meeting through zoom. All leaders please attend. 
  • Next Sunday is the first Sunday of the month when we remember our Lord Jesus’ death for us, please prepare our heart for the communion especially during this Lent season.
  • Ash Studios are now for rent. For details, please contact the church office.

Ash Wednesday Meditation Service 2021

Note:
  • Before you begin, please prepare a journal and a pen for you to write down what you receive during these mediation exercises. 
  • Please have your Bible ready, so that you can have the text before you as you meditate. We will be reading from The Message tonight. You can read the Message from the website BibleGateway.com
  • Find yourself a location where you can be undisturbed. But if audio distraction is unavoidable, you may also want to prepare some background music or white noise to shield out those distractions.
  • There will be a number of places in the program where you will be asked to stop the video and meditate on the questions provided. There will be a suggested length of time. You are welcome to spend more time than suggested, however, try not to spend less time on those meditations than the suggestions.

  • Ash Wednesday virtual meditation retreat will be held on February 17 (Wednesday). The topic is “The Discipline of Silence”. The video will be uploaded to the church website and Facebook at 7am on February 17. Brothers and sisters are welcome to participate in the meditation retreat at home through the video. The video will be removed at midnight. 
  • There will be a joint gathering through zoom on February 25 7:30 for all EM SGs. It will be an evening of fun and fellowship. Please make effort to come. 
  • Deacon board meeting summary has been posted on the church website.
