• The WBC Annual Church picnic will be held on August 5 at Belcarra Regional Park between 10am – 4pm. Tickets are now available from Deacon Peter Cheung. $12 per adult; $6 per child ages 4-10; free for children ages 3 and under.
• The Children’s Summer Camp at Westside Baptist Church is now open for registration until August 17. The camp will be held Mondays to Fridays from 9:30am to 3:30pm until August 23. We are very excited to welcome children from preschool to Grade 3 to join us for songs, story time, arts & crafts, games, outdoor activities, playground time, cooking lessons, special shows, field trips, and so much more! Sign-up is on a weekly basis, and the deadline for applications is by the Saturday of each week. The fee is $125/week. Get 20% off for the second sibling registering together! • The Youth Gospel Camp will be held on August 30 - September 2 at Alexandra Neighbourhood House. Those aged 16 to 25 are welcome to join.
• Registration is now open for AWANA in September 2013 - June 2014. The registration fee for the whole season is $35 (not including handbook and uniform). For registration and details, please contact Pastor Alan Yu.
• The WBC Missions Team is planning a mission trip to China in November. For those who are interested, please contact Deacon Felix Loo.
• The monthly bulletin for July has been posted on the bulletin board. Please see the board for details.
• WBC is hosting a LEGO party on August 8 (Thursday) from 7:30pm - 10:00pm. Join us in building some LEGO sets together! Get to know some new friends! Have fun! Note: this is a play time for ADULTS. Once again, it’s for adults only! Sorry, no children allowed. The theme this time will be the Master Builder Academy.
• The church plans to employ a completely new strategy for our children’s ministry in September - and we are excited to share it with you! Come and join a parent information session on Sunday, August 18 from 2pm – 4pm. All parents and grandparents are welcome! Child-sitting will be provided.
• The church has collected $2,050 in total for the “High River Compassion Project”. Donations will be sent to the Calgary office of the CBWC to purchase mattresses for those affected by the flood. Thank you all for your support!
• New worship times will take effect starting September 8. Chinese worship services will commence at 10 am on Sundays, and English worship services at 11:30 am on Sundays. For more details, please feel free to pick a pamphlet about the changes in September in the back of the worship hall.

• The Canadian Baptists of Western Canada is encouraging church involvement in the relief efforts for the most devastated community of High River. Donations will be collected and sent to the Calgary office of the CBWC to purchase mattresses for those affected by the flood. Please make cheques payable to “Westside Baptist Church” and mark “High River” on the offering envelope as donation receipts will be issued for amounts of $20 or more. July 20 will be the last day to collect this special offering. More details can be found on the bulletin board.

Summary of July 2013 Deacon Board Meeting

• The AWANA ministry encourages children to donate their AWANA shares on a regular basis. In the 2013-14, this ministry welcomes matching donation, 1 share for $10, donated to non-profit organizations. For more details, please contact Pastor Alan Yu.
• The church will renew a 2-years rental lease with, Hemrich Bros, the tenant downstairs.
• Pastors Alan will take his annual leave from August 14-16.
