Summary of March 2014 Deacon Board Meeting

• Pastor Anders, Deacon Peter Cheung and Felix Loo will represent the church to attend the CBWC assembly through webinar on April 10. 
• The church will arrange an outing event on May 3 and a luncheon on May 4 in celebrating her 22nd Anniversary. 
• Deacon Felix Loo will represent the church to attend the Ordination Examination Council with Pastor Alan Yu on May 28 in Edmonton. 
• The church will set up a mini-food bank for the needy. 
• Ricky Yu has replaced Nick Yeung, who has resigned due to personal reasons, as summer camp committee member. 
• Staff vacations and professional developments(PD): 
• Pastor Gladys – March 10 -11 (PD), May 7-8. 
• Pastor Anders – May 7-18. 
• Pastor Alan – March 20-28; April 29 – May 3 (PD). 
• Church secretary - March 7-9.

• A new adult small group has been started. Please pray for this and if you are interested to join, please contact Pastor Gladys or Justin Chen. Church prayer meetings are held every Sunday at 10:30am in room G. All are encouraged and welcome to attend. 
• WBC101 will be starting soon. Anyone who would like to be baptized or transferred to the church are welcome to join. For further details please contact Pastor Gladys. 
• We will be starting WBC301 soon. Anyone who has been baptized and wants to grow further in their Christian walk with the Lord are welcome to join. For further details please contact Pastor Gladys. 
• AWANA Matching Program needs your support! Every month at AWANA Store, we encourage the clubbers to donate the AWANA Shares they were awarded to a designated charity, in order to nurture in them a caring heart for the world and the people around us. For every Share they donate, we would like to invite donors to match with a $10 donation. For the first half of the term, through this program the clubbers at AWANA have raised a total of $1,580 towards charities like Operation Christmas Child, Food Bank, and International AWANA etc. We need your continual support this year! If you would like to be a matching donor, please contact Pastor Alan. 
• The monthly bulletin has been posted on the bulletin board in the church foyer. Please check for important church updates. 
• Some brothers and sisters have used a wrong offering envelope numbers previously. Therefore, please verify your number with Monica Tong, the treasurer. 
• Our dear sister Joyce Lai’s wedding will be held on March 15, 2014 at 11am in Richmond Fraserview Church. Details has already posted on the bulletin board. Her parents, Hugo and Lorinda, have prepared refreshments after worship today to share their joy with us.

• Ash Wednesday Meditation Service will be held on March 5. The meditation service will take about 1 hour, and you can join any time between 6-9pm. Last admission will be at 8:30pm. 
• Daylight Saving Time will begin at 2:00am on March 9 (Sunday). Please turn your clock one hour ahead before you go to bed on March 8 (Saturday).

• 2014 altar flower offering sign-up sheet has been posted on the notice board. $22 per Sunday per family. Please specify on the offering envelope that the donation is for “flower offering”. 
• Flu season is in full force, please use hand sanitizer if necessary. If you have flu symptom, please wear a facial mask or stay home to rest so as to prevent germs spreading.
