Ash Wednesday Meditation Retreat

Ash Wednesday Meditation Retreat Westside Baptist Church March 2, 2022

Please watch the retreat video using the following link. The video will only be available during 7am to midnight on March 2, 2022.

Reminders:
  • During this meditation program, please refrain from speaking (including whispering) and try your best to not make any noise, until it is over. 
  • Please maintain your solitude.
  • Before you begin, please prepare a journal and a pen for you to write down what you receive during these mediation exercises. 
  • Find yourself a location where you can be undisturbed. But if audio distraction is unavoidable, you may also want to prepare some background music or white noise to shield out those distractions.
  • You may also want to have your Bible ready, so that you can have the text before you as you meditate. We will be reading from The Message tonight. You can access the Message from the website BibleGateway.com
  • There will be a number of places in the program where you will be asked to stop the video and meditate on the questions provided. There will be a suggested length of time. You are welcome to spend more time than suggested, however, try not to spend less time on those meditations than the suggestions.
  • Please reserve about 90 minutes for this retreat program.

  • During this time of Omicron, we continue to have in person worship held at 11:30am. Please show proof of vaccination and wear a face mask. We also invite you to check your body temperature and sanitize your hands before entering the hall of worship. 
  • Brothers and sisters who are not fully vaccinated; or those who are showing any symptoms of COVID or who have other concerns, you are welcome to continue worshipping with us through Zoom at 11:30am.

  • The 30th anniversary celebration of the church will be held on May 1st. Tentatively include: 1) A joint worship service; 2) a food festival after the worship service, participants must register online, freewill offerings are welcome; 3) remake "Westside Baptist Story" short clip; 4) Give away souvenirs. 
  • According to the current government regulations, when participating in-person church gatherings, participants must: 1) show proof of vaccination; 2) sanitize hands and wear masks; 3) take body temperature; 4) maintain social distance. 
  • The Ash Wednesday video-based Meditation Retreat’s material will be available at the church website on March 2 (Wednesday) from 7am to midnight. Brothers and sisters are welcome to participate at their own time on March 2. 
  • 2021 donation receipts have been sent out by email/mail for donations over $20. Please contact the church office if you did not receive a donation receipt. 
  • Please move your car out of the underground covered parking after 15 minutes because we will be locking up the garage door.

  • Today is the first Sunday of the month when we usually take the Lord’s supper together. For those baptized brothers and sisters please pick up the individual packed communion at the door. Those who are unable to attend the in-person worship service, we encourage you to prepare the bread and the cup and take the communion at home by following the pastoral guidance.

  • Deacon Board Meeting will be held today at 2:00pm in Room A.
