Announcements - July 20, 2013

  • Come and get connected with one another and learn about small group life. All are welcome. Please contact Pastor Gladys or Deacon Peter Cheung if you are interested in joining a small group.
  • Church prayer meetings are held every Saturday at 5:00pm in Room F. All are encouraged and welcome to attend.
  • Don’t go home hungry! Join us for the community meal after Saturday evening worship services. Fees are $6 per person. Please contact Joyce or Jackson to pre-order by Thursday each week.
  • The WBC Annual Church picnic will be held on August 5 at Belcarra Regional Park between 10am – 4pm. Tickets are now available with Deacon Peter Cheung. $12 per adult; $6 per child of ages 4-10; free for children age 3 and under.
  • The Children Summer Camp at Westside Baptist Church is now open for registration until August 17 and applications need to be submitted by Saturday of each week. The camp will be held until August 23 Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 3:30pm. We are very excited to welcome children from preschool to grade 3 to join us for songs, story time, arts & crafts, games, outdoor activities, playground time, cooking lessons, special shows, field trips, and so much more! Children can sign up on a weekly basis. The fee is $125/week. 20% off for the second sibling registering together!   • The Youth Gospel Camp will be held on August 30 - September 2 at Alexandra Neighbourhood House. Those aged 16 to 25 are welcome to join.
  • Registration is now open for AWANA in September 2013 - June 2014. The registration fee for the whole season is $35, and does not include handbook and uniform. For registration and details, please contact Pastor Alan Yu.
  • Mission team is planning for a mission trip to China in November. For those who are interested, please contact Deacon Felix Loo.
  • July monthly bulletin has been posted on the bulletin board.
  • The Canadian Baptists of Western Canada is encouraging church involvement in the relief efforts for the most devastated community of High River. Donations will be collected and sent to the Calgary office of the CBWC to purchase mattresses for those affected by the flood. Please make cheques payable to “Westside Baptist Church” and mark “High River” on the offering envelope as donation receipts will be issued for amounts of $20 or more. July 20 will be the last day to collect this special offering. More details can be found on the bulletin board.
  • New worship times will take effect starting September 8. Chinese worship services will commence at 10 am on Sundays, and English worship services at 11:30 am on Sundays. For more details, please feel free to pick a pamphlet about the changes in September in the back of the worship hall.
