Announcements - November 17, 2013

  • Small groups will be going through transitions due to the changes in September re the worship. Any newcomers who are interested in joining small groups, please contact pastor Gladys.
  • Church prayer meetings are held every Sunday at 10:30am in Room G. All are encouraged and welcome to attend.
  • Anyone who has been baptized and wants to grow further in their Christian walk with the Lord, please join us at English 201 which will be starting soon. For further details please contact Pastor Gladys.
  • Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) encourages donation in the relief of the Philippines Typhoon. Special offerings will be collected today and Nov 24. Donations will send to CBM. Please make cheques payable to “Westside Baptist Church” and mark “Philippines Typhoon” on the offering envelope. Donation receipts will be issued for an amount of $20 or more.
  • Representatives from City of Vancouver will come to the church on November 27 at 7pm to give a talk on the development of Marpole community and the Cambie corridor. Brothers and sisters are welcomed to join.
  • Joy Fellowship World Market will be held on November 30 at Trinity Baptist Church (W49th & Granville St.) between 10am – 2pm. Nativity-themed crafts and gifts* World Market Stocking Stuffers* Cards and knitting* Bake Sale* White Elephant Table * Christmas Carol singing*Christmas Tea.
  • Members must attend the deacon election meeting at 1:00pm on December 1, 2013 in order to vote. No proxy vote is permitted in this election. The election will be held right after the Sunday worship service in the main hall. Deaconship candidate’s profile has been posted on the notice board.
  • Christmas Charity Dinner will be held on December 15. Tickets will be selling at adult $12, age 4-10 children $6, age 3 and below is free. Funds raised including offering collected at the tables will be donated to Food Bank and Union Gospel Mission. Tickets are now available with small group leaders or Deacon Justin Chen.
  • DONATIONS WANTED! Gifts to be sold at the Christmas Charity Auction are now being collected. We are accepting: new items of value; unique and valuable vintage items; and unused and non-expired gift certificates, gift cards, or gift vouchers (e.g. Groupons). Items should be new or in excellent condition. Contact Pastor Alan for details. Please note that the Church reserves the right to refuse any donations, and unsold gifts will be returned to donors. Thank you for your support!
  • WBC is hosting a charity clothing drive from December 8-December 15. Details have been posted on the bulletin board and the church website. Net proceeds will be donated to the Vancouver Food Bank and Union Gospel Mission. Please bring your clothing donations to Room G.
  • The monthly bulletin has been posted on the bulletin board in the church foyer. Please check for important church updates.
