Announcements - November 26, 2017


  • The deaconship election will be held today. Polling station has been set up to collect the ballots from members. The opening hours of the polling station are as follow: 9:30am – 10am; the half an hour right after CM worship service and right after EM worship service until 1:30pm. Members are encouraged to vote. Note: Due to health issue, Maria Wan has already withdrawn from the election. The nomination committee will discuss about the actions needed to be followed.
  • During the collection week for Operation Christmas Child the church has collected 5474 shoe box gifts. Out of which, Westside brothers and sisters have donated 90 gifts. The shoe box gifts have already transported to Calgary for inspection and sorting. Thank you Felix Loo for coordinating the project and brothers and sisters who helped to pack the cartons and load the trailer. 
  • Lost and found items in the kitchen will be donated for the clothing drive fundraiser event. Please claim your lost items before December 10. 
  • A special Christmas meditation retreat will be held on December 10 at the main hall. The material written will be in English. But the verbal instruction will be in Cantonese. The topic is “We Have Come to Worship Him”. The details and sign-up sheet have been posted on the bulletin board. 
  • WBC is again hosting a charity clothing drive this year and the collection period will be from December 3-December 10. For each bag (filled up 26” x 36” garbage bag) of clothing donated we will receive $2.5 from Big Brother. Net proceeds will be equally donated to Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society and Union Gospel Mission. 
  • Christmas Charity dinner will be held on December 17, 2017 at 6:00pm (Coordinators: Peter Cheung, Deacons Godfrey Leung and Jenny Tse). The cost is $15 per adult. $8 per ages 4-10 child. Tickets booth will be set up on today; December 3 and 10 between 11:15am – 11:45am at the main entrance. Please prepare cash or cheque if you would like to purchase the ticket. Seats are limited. Tickets sale are on a first comes first serves basis. Start to invite friends early! Net proceeds will be equally donated to Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society and Union Gospel Mission. 
  • DONATIONS WANTED! Gifts to be sold at the Christmas Charity Auction are now being collected. We are accepting: new items of value; unique and valuable vintage items; and unused and non-expired gift certificates, gift cards, or gift vouchers (e.g. Groupons). Items should be new or in excellent condition. Please contact Pastor Alan for details before December 11. Please note that the Church reserves the right to refuse any donations, and unsold gifts will be returned to donors. Thank you for your support!
