- agree with the theology of our church and the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada
- have graduated from an accredited theological school with Master of Divinity or equivalent
- able to preach fluently in both Cantonese and English
- familiar with North America Chinese culture
- able to frequently preach, teach and serve with pastoral care
