Summary of October Deacon Board Meeting

  • The board has proposed the following change of the bylaw 8.1.1 :
    • At each Annual Congregational Meeting, the Church shall name a Nomination Committee consisting of not more than seven nor less than five members, including one named as Chairperson and the Senior Pastor as an ex-officio voting member with a minimum of three representatives from the deacon board. The Nomination Committee shall elect one member as Chairperson through majority vote.
  • Christmas Charity Dinner will be held on December 15. Tickets will be selling at adult $12, age 4-10 children $6, age 3 and below is free. Funds raised including offering collected at the tables will be donated to Food Bank and Union Gospel Mission.
  • The collection dates for clothing drive are December 8 to December 15. Bags of clothing will be collected at Room G.
  • The church will submit an application for government funding to hire 3 summer students to coordinate the children summer program before December 1, 2013. If the funding is approved, the program will be held in summer 2014.
  • The church will hold a summer camp in 2014. Details are to be announced.
  • Pastor Gladys and Pastor Anders will take their holidays from November 14 – 24, 2013.
